OAKLANDON FIRE DAMAGE $80,000
Business Block Swept by Flames.

Investigation was being made today to determine the origin of the fire that swept a business block at Oaklandon, Ind., late Friday, with loss unofficially estimated at $80,000.

Blaze, it is said, started in a grocery owned by Jeff Griffey, in Red Men’s Hall. Hardware store of Crouch and Foster and harness shop of Charles Jordan in the hall were destroyed. Loss to the hall and contents was put at $40,000.

Universalist Church, completed a week ago, was razed when the flames spread. Damage was estimated at $35,000. Christian church, Erbin McCord’s confectionery, Fusher Overland Auto Company and Lyman Coryy's barber shop were also damaged.
