Robins Closet / Raw Verbiage - Ideas
Last post by Michael:D - Mar 29, 2017, 01:24 PM
The following was collected up from the internet and pasted here to serve as inspiration:

New Life Clothing Room
Trinity has a mission partnership with New Life United Methodist Church at 25 West 5th Avenue to minister to the homeless in our community. This ministry serves more than 2,200 people each month and gives out coats, bedding, clothes and personal hygiene items. Clothing Room hours are Tuesdays from 8:00 am-3:00 pm,  Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 pm, and Sundays from 6:30-9:00 am.

Those with willing hands are invited to help create homemade sleeping bags at New Life on the first and third Wednesdays of every month between 12:30 and 3:00. You can come for any or all of the session as your time allows. No particular sewing skills are needed, just sharp scissors and a thimble. These sleeping bags are shared with our neighbors in need through the clothing room. Materials for the sleeping bags are also needed, including used bed linens, mattress pads, fabric, anything past its prime that can be layered for warmth.

How to Donate Clothing Items
Donations, along with small bags of in-season clothing, can be placed in the bins near Trinity?s Meditation Room. Men?s items are always in critical need. It is appreciated if large donations are taken directly to New Life. Clothing Room donations are gratefully accepted at New Life on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 ? 11:30 am. The address is 25 W. 5th Ave.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

It?s not just a closet, it?s a ministry.  By allowing God to use us we seek to care for others in a non-judgmental environment by providing clean, gently used clothing with an open heart so that others may see Christ through us.

WHAT WE DO

Our clothing ministry is more than a way to clothe people, it is a way to share the loving concern of God?s people for others and to share Jesus Christ?s love with a lost and needy world.
Valley Grove serves our community on a referral basis by local agencies, emergency shelters, local churches and schools.  We are open on Monday?s from 8:30 am ? 11:30 am, in emergency situations we will set up appointments.
Everything is given free of charge to any individual or family regardless of economic status.
Our goal is to provide clothing and hygiene supplies as a ministry to people within our community.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The clothing ministry depends solely upon volunteers and clothing donations.
By providing a donation, you allow people in need to pay other bills to sustain their lives and their dignity.
We will accept your gently worn donations of clean, stain and odor free clothing and footwear in all sizes.
Please donate only new undergarments such as bras, panties, underwear, etc.
Donations of travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes are also needed.

It is not too bad to use a smart phone for this site... there are special themes that are supposed to help but they seem to rob the user of too many features.

This board was created as a test/demonstration of how we can assign exclusive areas for selected members. If you can see this message board then you have been granted membership into the "Techies" member group. At this point in time the only other exclusive (custom) member group is named "Clerk" anyone granted membership into the Clerk group may add and edit calendar events.

These groups have been set up so that membership may be requested... In each members profile page it shows which group the member belongs to. It also shows which groups are open for membership requests.

It is possible to create member groups that are closed (membership can only be assigned by an administrator) these are not visible in public member-group lists.

DaveT is currently listed as moderator of this board which gives him the power to edit and delete all posts made here. GregD and Michael:D also have moderator privileges by virtue of their administrator classification (even though they are not listed as moderators.)

As an example this post has been "Pinned" or "Sticky"ed so that it stays on top of other (more active/newer) articles.

MTZionIndy.org / The Very First Vestibule Newsl...
Last post by Michael:D - Jan 30, 2017, 09:15 AM
Greetings {$member.name},

The Mt. Zion Ministry Fair was a big success and one of the big topics of discussion at the "Technology - Internet - Ministry Support" booth was our "Vestibule" internet discussion forum.

We added a couple of new users to our ranks and reminded many that they are indeed still members. There was a discussion about seeing if it was possible to email the group as a whole with news and announcements and it turns out the answer is yes indeed... :)

It is safe to say, it has been a while since you last visited us so you are invited to come back and see what you have been missing. Please give some thought to commenting on items or even beginning a conversation yourself.

There are many topic areas of interest and if you would like to create a new "board" of your own we will gladly set that up for you. (Message Michael:D on-site for assistance.)

It was obvious from the Ministry Fair that there are a lot of nice folks doing a lot of good works as the hands and feet of Jesus here at Mt. Zion. It would be so nice to see all these various Ministries represented in the Vestibule. Why not have a "Ministry Fair" every day over on "The Vestibule?"

Regards,
Michael:D & The Vestibule Team.
