Life Reborn / On the topic of LOVE
Last post by Michael:D - Jul 24, 2018, 10:14 AM
The following was posted to a blogger friend of mine as a comment on an article she wrote entitled "Love." https://christineity.wordpress.com/2018/06/06/love/
I thank God for any opportunity to share what the Love of God means to me...

I think it is probably safe to say the only way to ever write about love is in the realm of metaphorical. We know it exists because of the effect it has on us; both in its glorious presence and its deep dark apparent absence. I have found it extremely hard to have the discussion without feeling the need to venture into the theisticââ,¬Â¦

Knowing what we already know about Love, it is quite the claim for God to declare that He IS Love (according to certain documents held sacred by many.) There is much to suggest that the two are inseparable concepts: chiefly in that, words cannot adequately describeââ,¬Â¦

...

Lately I have been struck with the notion that all that ever was, is or will be, within our universe of existence cannot even begin to approach the truly infinite extent to which that which contains our reality ââ,¬â€œ bound by time ââ,¬â€œ has to offer. To limit love to the Earthly plane would be to deny its greatness. True love knows instinctively that it is not hyperbole to talk about ââ,¬Å"forever.ââ,¬Â

We often lose sight of the truth that Love is not something you do it is the place where you exist. Fish have the sea, birds have the air, beasts have the fields but humanity has loveââ,¬Â¦ when you walk in love you will find others who do likewise. It is not necessary to look for love, you must however, BE in love to find what many will term their soulmate.

I had hoped to comment in a way that did not appear to patronize but Love is a very serious matter and very often treated with disregard for its true power to change lives and bring comfort. The fact that you recognize that love is also responsible for woe bodes well for you, by my estimation; too many individuals give up on love in the throes of discomfort ââ,¬â€œ to give up on love is to give up on forever, and that is something far too important to ever lose sight of.

God will is I live my life to glorify His name. I thank God for His love and understanding. He is with me through the good times and carries me through the bad times.

Lamentations 3:22-23 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
22 The kindnesses of Jehovah! For we have not been consumed, For not ended have His mercies.

23 New every morning, abundant [is] thy faithfulness.

Hi Dave,  that's a fair question - I know this is "Ask the Pastor" but I wanted to chime in with my two shekels: ;)

There has been a great deal of divisive work done in the name of the Lord in the efforts to decode those mysteries of the end times.

The fact of the matter is that is really does not matter one way or the other (or the other (or the other, even).) Us knowing God's plans in detail is not a requirement for God to work His will in mankind.

This is a common litmus test used by many Christians: "Are you pre-trib?",  "Are you post-trib?"... Me? I am saved by the Grace of God through the shedding of the blood of Christ on that cross on Calvary. He rose again... I have every expectation that we all will too.

The revelations concerning the end times could very well be so drastically misunderstood by the "scholars" that every one may be wrong in their interpretation.  We shall see one day, of that we can be certain...   :D
but for now we live by that precious gift of faith.

Verses From The Bible - Universal Favorites / God's Love For Us
Last post by Dave T - Apr 29, 2018, 09:44 PM
Ephesians 1:3 - 9 (YLT)
3 Blessed [is] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who did bless us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

4 according as He did choose us in him before the foundation of the world, for our being holy and unblemished before Him, in love,

5 having foreordained us to the adoption of sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, in which He did make us accepted in the beloved,

7 in whom we have the redemption through his blood, the remission of the trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,

8 in which He did abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

9 having made known to us the secret of His will, according to His good pleasure, that He purposed in Himself,

Paul writes in his Epistle to the the Thessalonians:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 King James Version (KJV)  www.biblegateway.com

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Recorded Live / Episode 35 - The One About The...
Last post by Michael:D - Feb 07, 2018, 10:31 AM
In this meeting of the non-mainstream bible study group Greg and Mike:D are missing the regulars, DaveT and Jack but are pleased to welcome back Dara and a couple of first time guests,  Ann and Carrie to the discussion.

In Sunday School last Sunday a discussion of Hell was begun and it was suggested that those wishing to continue the investigation should join the Tuesday evening Bible study group to look into the matter in greater depth.

For this meeting a couple of hand-outs were given to go over and these are used to (somewhat) guide the discussion. Download PDF versions of these documents below:

The Case Against Hell
What Happens When We Die

These are thought to be two very important matters to straight if one is desiring to come into a realization of the TRUTH.
